Derrian Carter
I am a self-motivated, hardworking writer and reporter, who earned a BA in journalism at Clark Atlanta University and a MA in sports journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University. I aim to earn a position at a media company that will allow me to explore career options in the sports and entertainment field.
My experience includes: working as a reporter/producer for MLB.com, a sports digital reporter for Cronkite News, a sports reporting intern for the Tuscaloosa News through the Sports Journalism Institute, a graduate research associate for the Knight-Cronkite News Lab, a summer fellow at FOS, a summer intern for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, a copy editor and reporter for the Poynter Institute, and a freelance photographer for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Additionally, I have a podcast called the PACT Life Podcast that discusses compelling topics in sports, music and entertainment.
My experience as a producer and editor, coupled with my strong writing skills, ensures that I will contribute positively to a media team. I look forward to learning at a leading media company from which I can expand my knowledge.
